DAY 1 - ARRIVAL / PRAGUE - Thursday - April 23

  • Arrive Václav Havel Airport Prague Meet your guide in the Arrivals Hall
  • Step inside Prague’s Jewish Quarter as we tell a story of Jews who deeply valued who they were and the community they were a part of. This neighborhood was home to centuries of Jewish life, learning, and prayer. From the elaborate gravestones of the Old Cemetery to the grandeur of the synagogues, we encounter a story which continues even today.
  • Visit the Altneu Shul, Europe’s oldest functioning synagogue, where prayers have echoed since the 13th century. A symbol of unbroken Jewish continuity, its ancient stones are said to have come from the Temple in Jerusalem.
  • Explore the graves at the Old Jewish Cemetery of towering figures such as Rabbi Yehuda Loew ben Bezalel, the famed Maharal of Prague. Also buried here are scholars Rabbi Shlomo Ephraim of Luntchitz (the Kli Yakar), Rabbi David Solomon Ganz, and Rivkah bat Meir Tiktiner, one of the earliest known female Jewish influencers.
  • Packed lunch
  • After lunch we will visit the Pinkas Shul, the second oldest surviving shul in Prague. Today the shul serves to commemorate approximately 80,000 Czech Jewish victims of the Holocaust with its impressive focus on individuals.
  • Discover the life and mind of this iconic writer at the striking Statue of Franz Kafka -explore how Kafka’s surreal and haunting works reflected his inner world — his struggles with identity, faith, and belonging — and gain insight into his complex relationship with Judaism and his Jewish identity in early 20th-century Prague.
  • Visit the Spanish Synagogue - the newest of Prague’s historic synagogues (built in 1868) and among the most architecturally stunning. Built on the site of the city’s oldest Jewish house of prayer, it reflects both continuity and renewal in Jewish life.
  • Dinner at the hotel/ restaurant
  • Overnight: King David Hotel

DAY 2 - OLD TOWN - Friday - April 24

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Learn about Jewish life in Prague today and visit the local institutions with a Speaker from Local Jewish Community (TBC)
  • We will visit the beautiful Strahov Garden overlooking the city. From this majestic lookout, we can see the very heart of Prague spread before us — the castle on one side, the Old Town on the other, and nestled between them, the historic Jewish Quarter, as we continue to trace the story of Prague.
  • Explore Prague Castle, a symbol of power and history through the ages. Standing at the crossroads of European civilizations, it provides a striking backdrop to reflect on Jewish resilience, presence, and legacy throughout the shifting tides of Central European history.
  • Continue to learn about Jewish history at Wenceslas Square - the beating heart of modern Prague — and a place where the Jewish and Czech stories are deeply intertwined. In the 19th century, many Jewish families opened shops and publishing houses here, becoming part of Prague’s growing middle class and helping shape the city’s vibrant, intellectual life.
  • Packed lunch
  • Experience the charm and culture of Prague’s Old Town, a place where echoes of Jewish merchants, philosophers, and mystics once filled the cobbled streets, reminders of a proud heritage embedded in the city’s soul.
  • The Prague Astronomical Clock, or Orloj, is one of the city’s most beloved treasures — and one of the oldest functioning astronomical clocks in the world. First installed in 1410, it’s a masterpiece of medieval science and art, blending astronomy and mechanics, into one breathtaking work.

  • Overlooking the Vltava River, the Rudolfinum is one of Prague’s most elegant buildings — a palace of art, culture, and music which became a gathering place for Prague’s growing middle class, including many Jewish musicians, patrons, and composers who helped shape the city’s artistic identity. During the Nazi occupation, the Rudolfinum was turned into an administrative hall of the Reich, its concert halls silenced, its symbolism distorted. But after the war, the music returned. The Czech Philharmonic — with Jewish conductors, soloists, and survivors among its ranks — once again filled this space with sound.
